Matthew Muellenhoff, DO, FAOCD

As founder and Medical Director of SIERRADERM, Dr. Muellenhoff started practicing dermatology in Grass Valley in 2004. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where his family has resided since the 1940s. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis prior to receiving his Osteopathic medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.

Dr. Muellenhoff completed his one-year internship at Downey Regional Medical Center, also in Southern California, before completing his 3-year Dermatology residency training at NOVA Southeastern/ Sun Coast Hospital, in Tampa, Florida. While there, Dr. Muellenhoff was honored to serve as Chief Resident of Dermatology. Dr. Muellenhoff is board certified in Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

He has published several articles in nationally and internationally recognized medical journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, International Journal of Dermatology, and Journal of Investigative Dermatology. He has had the opportunity to lecture at local, regional, and national dermatology meetings and has ongoing commitments to clinical research.
